Bought a gun online or from an out-of-state seller? Have it shipped to DeMalia Firearms & Training and pick it up here in Hubbardston.

Transfer fee: $30 per firearm. Any taxes or state-required charges are extra; ask us before you buy.

How it works

1. Call or email us before you buy to confirm we'll accept the transfer and that the firearm is legal to transfer in Massachusetts. Store line: 978-820-1402 · John's cell: 508-981-6080 · demaliafirearms@gmail.com

2. Have the seller ship to our FFL. We send our FFL copy to the seller or dealer on request.

3. We'll call you when it arrives.

4. Pick up in person during store hours with your valid MA LTC (or FID where applicable) and government photo ID. We complete the federal Form 4473, the background check, and the Massachusetts Gun Transaction Portal entry.

Good to know

• We can only transfer firearms that are legal to sell in Massachusetts. That includes the MA approved handgun roster, the assault-style firearm restrictions, and the magazine capacity limits. If a firearm isn't MA-compliant, we can't release it to you.

• You must be eligible under federal and MA law, and you must pass the background check.

• Private-party transfers: $30. Buyer and seller come in together; both must be eligible, and the buyer needs a valid LTC/FID. We process the sale through the Massachusetts Gun Transaction Portal.

• Handgun purchases need an LTC. Long guns need an LTC or FID, as the law allows.
